Description
Here we have a mixed-media figurine of 'Derpy Hooves' - the fan-named character from Hasbro/Hud's 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.' The art style is Lauren Faust's (fyre-flye), and the example pic is from a screenshot of the show.
This is my second-ever pony creation. Like Leathercraft Pony, Derpy is made from suede, with wool hair.
This time, the hair is raw merino wool roving rather than pencil roving. For this particular character, it took several hours to get the hairdo past a 'mullet' stage...
The addition of wings was also new - I left them floppy to convey Derpy's personality, but they can also be posed standing up.
Within the smaller box is a pair of 'before' & 'after' pics. After I took the initial photos, I decided to do an emergency rhinoplasty (derpyplasty) and those are the results.
The pattern I altered looks pretty show-accurate from the sides, and 3/4 view, but as you can see, it was quite awkward-looking from the front. I'm much happier with the revised head pattern.
But I'm still an impatient, fail photographer - and you still can't quite see the derp-eyes in all their glory
